In 2021, my work took on a new subject: Colonization. Not surprisingly, given the unresolved issues regarding immigration policy and the controversy over the border wall. It is a subject that is being discussed intensely by young Chicanx historians. As an artist, it offers me the opportunity to visually examine the political and philosophical issues of this catastrophic event and the repercussions of the savage expropriation of the Western Hemisphere that continue to impact the descendants of indigenous people to the present day.
