The truth is that the history of Mexico is a history in the image of its geography: abrupt and tortuous ~ Octavio Paz

In 2021, my work will take on a new subject: Colonization. Not surprisingly, given the current controversy regarding immigration policy and the border wall, it is a subject that is being intensely discussed by young Chicanx historians. As an artist, it offers me the opportunity to visually reframe the political and philosophical issues, and in doing so to echo the repercussions of the savage expropriation of the Western Hemisphere that continue to impact the descendants of indigenous people to present day. Included are three works from the recent past that more properly belong in this series
